1907 Strowger Dial Phone
C$1,000.00 Regular Price
1907 Antique Strowger 11 digit dial wall phone, made by Automatic Electric Co., Chicago, Ill. Patented May 19, 1906.
Original phone. All original parts, no repros. The dial spins perfectly on all digits, and locks as it should when the receiver is in place. The wood overall is in great condition for it's age. Although not much shine left, the finish is fairly even and consistent. There are no significant chips, marks or scratches on the wood. Slight imperfections, but for it's age and considering it is used, the cabinet is well above average for these phones. The chrome is very good on the transmitter and switch hook, very good on the dial, acceptable on the gongs, and poor on the finger stop. This is also very consistent with Strowgers, the transmitter is rarely found with bad chrome and the finger stop is usually the weakest link. Bells are made of brass. RARE. Internally, all the wiring is in place, which is great to find. The wires for the transmitter can be seen all the way up to the top of the pearch, the dial has all of its wires soldered to the door hinges, and all else looks good. All the screws and hardware are on this phone. The receiver is in great condition, with no cracks. The cord is in beautiful condition.
